Improving Secondary Crime Prevention Process for juveniles and children in conflict with the law in Georgia

Project Description
The project envisages provision of psycho-social rehabilitation services and intervention programs to 400 juveniles in conflict with the law, children and adolescents at risk and juvenile delinquents participating in “Diversion and Mediation programs” as well as involving them in various sports and recreational activities. Within the project framework, intervention package consisting of nine evidence-based psychosocial programs and intervention program for parents of juveniles will be developed and implemented. Project foresees identifying the gaps within juvenile justice reform, elaborating policy recommendations and advocating for their implementation. Within the action capacities of relevant state structures will be strengthened.
Specific Objective
- Provision of rehabilitation services to juveniles in conflict with the law;
- Developing and implementing intervention packages of nine evidence-based psychosocial programs and intervention programs for parents of juveniles;
- Identification of gaps within juvenile justice reform, elaboration of policy recommendations and advocacy for their implementation;
- Strengthening action capacities of relevant state structures;
Expected Results
- Ensured access to tailor-made group/individual psychological intervention services for juveniles and their family members;
- Increased knowledge and capacities of state agency personnel on juvenile crime prevention process;
- Identified and acknowledged gaps that exist in policy and practices regarding juvenile crime prevention process;
