Project Description
Protection of human rights is at the core of the European Union’s programming in Georgia. I It recognizes that access to clean water, sanitation and hygiene are critical to protection of the inherent right to health and dignified life.
This project is supporting healthcare and suitable living conditions for vulnerable communities, prevent discrimination, provide access to water, and establish Water, Sanitation and Hygiene (WaSH) standards by engaging respective stakeholders. The project works with rural communities, some with ethnic minorities, and finds innovative ways for promoting its cause.

Specific Objective
Protect health and social rights and improve well-being of women and youth in vulnerable multi-ethnic rural communities of Kakheti and Kvemo Kartli regions, through reduction of discrimination and introduction of Water, Sanitation and Hygiene (WaSH) standards.
Expected Results
- Reports on human rights violations and recommendations for target communities produced;
- Baseline technical assessment report of WaSH condition in target communities developed;
- Applications and petitions on human rights violations to relevant local and regional state and non-state institutions are filed;
- Community-led advocacy campaigns, initiatives and discussions implemented;
- Media advocacy campaign in target municipalities implemented;
- Projects implemented to address water conflicts and inequalities in vulnerable communities.
