Minister of Education and EU Ambassador Explore the Advancements at Eastern Partnership European School Construction Site
The Minister of Education and Science of Georgia, Giorgi Amilakhvari, and the Director for Neighbourhood East and Institution Building at the European Commission, Adrienn Kiraly visited the construction site of the EaP European SchoolatLisi Lake, symbolizing the joint commitment of the Government of Georgia and the EU towards the advancement of education and youth development.
The Eastern Partnership European School is a major strategic initiative for both the Georgian Government and the European Union. It aims to meet the educational and employment needs of youth and promote multicultural and multilingual education. The EaP European School in Georgia is envisioned as a pioneering model for educational reform, promising an environment that fosters high-quality learning in alignment with European values and educational standards.
Giorgi Amilakhvari, Minister of Education and Science of Georgia, emphasized, “The construction of the Eastern Partnership European School in Tbilisi remains a top priority for both the Georgian government and the European Union. The Ministry of Education and Science is unwaveringly committed to ensuring the sustainable success of this project. We look forward to celebrating the start of the new school year in 2024 with the first class of students of this exceptional school.”
The educational campus, which covers 26,090 square meters, will comprise school and dormitory buildings, a rugby field, basketball and volleyball courts, a library, and other state-of-the-art educational facilities. This innovative campus, influenced by contemporary educational philosophies, sets a new benchmark for school design in Georgia, featuring diverse and adaptable learning spaces that promote a holistic learning experience.

Scheduled to open its doors in 2024, the EaP European School will offer two distinct educational tracks – Georgian and the International Baccalaureate Diploma Programme. These tracks emphasize multicultural education, language acquisition, and the delivery of high-quality teaching and learning experiences.
About the EaP European School: Establishment of the EaP European School in Georgia was included as one of the deliverables of “Eastern Partnership – 20 Deliverables for 2020″. It is implemented by the United Nations Office for Project Services (UNOPS) in close cooperation with the Government of Georgia. A well-equipped school campus focusing on secondary education and a modern teacher training facility through a Learning Academy, will offer students high quality learning, reflecting European values and educational standards.
