Congratulations to Young European Ambassadors on their 4th Anniversary
08/07/2020
The EU’s Young European Ambassadors (YEAs) youth empowerment initiative celebrates its fourth anniversary this week by welcoming new members to the network. EU Ambassador Carl Hartzell is among those passing on his congratulations and appreciation for the YEAs.
The initiative was launched in 2016 and today YEAs operate in all six Eastern Partnership Countries – Armenia, Azerbaijan, Belarus, Georgia, the Republic of Moldova and Ukraine – raising awareness about the EU and EU cooperation. In Georgia, there are more than a 100 YEAs, with 10 new members joining the network this week.
Background
The YEA initiative is part of the ‘EU NEIGHBOURS east’ project within the EU’s ‘OPEN Neighbourhood’ programme, funded by the European Commission. It aims to foster cooperation and sustainable links between young people and youth organisations from the EU and the Eastern partner countries.
