It’s time to act #ForNature
June 5 is World Environment Day!
This year, to celebrate World Environment Day, the EU-supported Tsalka Local Action Group (LAG) announces a video competition It’s time to act #ForNature for school students of Tsalka Municipality!
This year’s theme is #biodiversity. It’s time to reimagine our relationship with nature. Time to put nature at the heart of all our decision making. We know what it will take to live in harmony with nature.
The competition aims to promote environmental issues seen through the eyes of young people and increase their engagement in environmental protection.
Students from any school of Tsalka Municipality can participate in the competition, both individually and in groups, as long as the school has an eco-club.
To participate in the competition, participants must submit their videos on the following topics:
- Environment and biodiversity
- A history of the harmonious coexistence of nature and man
- Nature seen through my eyes (what does nature mean to me?)
- How do I celebrate World Environmental Day?
The videos should highlight the importance of the selected topic and the author’s vision.
The style of the videos is not limited; it may reflect specific actions or can be in a vlog format.
To participate in the competition you will need:
- Desire
- 1 video
- Creativity and motivation
Note that the duration of the video should not exceed 2 minutes.
Videos can be submitted in Georgian, Armenian and Azerbaijani languages

3 winners within the competition will be revealed
1st place – tablet and online training course on mobile photography and video editing
2nd place – 3-month Netflix account, 100 GEL Biblus voucher, online training course on mobile photography and video editing
3rd place – 3-month Netflix account, 50 GEL Biblus voucher, online training course on mobile photography and video editing
Preference will be given to videos in which the following is presented:
Importance of the topic, creativity, originality and video quality.

In order to care of ourselves, it is important to take care of the environment in which we live and to support young people whose voices are crucial in creating a better future.
The project ‘Local LEADERs Embrace Sustainable Development in Multi-Ethnic Tsalka Municipality (EMBRACE Tsalka)” aims to reduce rural poverty and improve living conditions in Tsalka municipality, addressing economic, social, and environmental concerns by improving agricultural competitiveness, promoting sustainable management of natural resources, and building climate-resilient rural economies and communities. In addition, through the LEADER approach, the project will strengthen family farms, entrepreneurs, women, youth and other local groups by providing access to knowledge, innovations and new technologies, by supporting business development and creating jobs.
The project “EMBRACE Tsalka” is implemented under the European Neighbourhood Programme for Agriculture and Rural Development (ENPARD) by EU’s partner organization CENN, in partnership with the Georgian Farmers’ Association (GFA) and German partner organization – Institute for Rural Development Research (IfLS).
The EU is supporting agriculture and rural development in Georgia through its ENPARD Programme. Implemented since 2013 with a total budget of EUR 179.5 million, the main goal of ENPARD is to reduce rural poverty in Georgia. The first phase of ENPARD in Georgia focused on developing the potential of agriculture. The second and third phases of ENPARD focus on creating economic opportunities for rural populations that go beyond agricultural activities. More information on ENPARD is available at: www.enpard.ge.
