The Europe edition of the popular game “What? Where? When?” finalises first part of the journey around Georgia. The final tournament was held at “Expo Georgia” on May 12. This was the first time when the participants of the European Version of “What? Where? When?” game brought together the students from different universities across Georgia.

The marathon was successfully launched in June 2023 and has travelled to all the regions of Georgia throughout the year, engaging over 6 000 motivated young people. In total, about 1 000 teams participated in games in 61 municipalities and 10 districts of Tbilisi as well as the Juvenile Colony.

The game was opened by Pawel Herczynski, the Ambassador of the European Union to Georgia. “It is incredible to see so many young people eager to learn more about the European Union and committed to its values. We are closing the first edition ever of the “What? Where? When?” game focused on the European Union, right after we finished celebrating a historic Europe Day yesterday, the first one after Georgia received the EU Candidate Status last year. The candidate status is a historic opportunity for the future of Georgia in the European Union and for you as future citizens of the European Union. Now, more than ever, it is up to you, the young people of Georgia, to embody and promote the values the EU stands for – democracy, freedom, equality, human rights. And up to you to continue to be active as Georgia moves towards EU membership”, – said Ambassador.

The questions for the game were tailored to enable youth to learn more about the European Union in a fun and interactive manner. Students were eligible to participate, offering them a chance to enjoy while gaining valuable insights into the EU and Europe overall.

The game series “What? Where? When?” were hosted by George Mosidze, the author and host of the Georgian Club, as well as other club members.
