Established in 2012, the EU Prize for Journalism is an annual event that encourages professionalism and ethical conduct in Georgian journalism, organized by the Delegation of the European Union to Georgia. The rules of the EU Prize for Journalism have been inspired by the principles of the Georgian Charter of Journalistic Ethics.
The prize recognizes excellence across various categories, including investigative reporting, feature stories, blogs, and documentary photography, in both traditional and digital media. In 2022, the EU Prize for Journalism added a special category for students, taking an important step in supporting the next generation of ethical and professional journalists in Georgia.
