Civil Society Organisations Meter (CSO Meter): Empowered for Action

Project Description
The CSO Meter monitors the environment in which civil society organisations (CSOs) operate in the Eastern Partnership (EaP) countries.

It provides essential data and analysis on the laws and practice affecting CSOs, which allows the civil society sector and the EU to identify priorities for legal reforms needed.

The project aims to contribute to the objectives laid down in the Civil Society Facility for Inclusive and Resilient societies. More precisely, it aims to strengthen the capacities of local CSOs and think tanks, to meaningfully engage in policy making and dialogue, promote open civic space and serve local communities.
Specific Objective
The overall objective is to promote enabling environment for civil society in the Eastern Partnership countries.

2. Defending civic space from the adoption of restrictive laws
Expected Results
1. Civil Society Organisations continue to monitor the civil society environment and advocate for improved policies and practices in their countries.
2. Increased capacities of CSO Meter Hub members.
3. Enhanced CSO Meter Tool and methodology
4. Improved monitoring and reporting of the CSO environment by the CSO Meter Hub members with the support of the intervention
5. Developed and launched advocacy actions by the CSO Meter Hub members with the support of the intervention.
