Support to Georgian National Agency for Standards and Metrology (GEOSTM) for further implementation of the EU-Georgia Deep and Comprehensive Free Trade Area (DCFTA) requirements

Project Description
The project aims at strengthening of operation of standards and metrology in Georgia and improving access to international and European standards and measurement services for businesses, academia and other stakeholders.
Specific Objective
Standards development and adoption is in line with international practice.
Results of measurements performed by GEOSTM in selected areas are internationally recognised and can be used by any customer to demonstrate traceability to international standards while implementing management systems to standards ISo 9001, ISO 17025 etc.
Expected Results
- Capacity building for Standardization department in line with EU/internationally recognised best practices;
- Awareness raising activities and further integration of GEOSTM in relevant international and regional standardisation and metrology
organizations Support to legal approximation according to DCFTA TBT chapter in the field of standardisation and metrology;
- Support to Metrology Institute in capacity building in the preparation for further extension of the scope of international recognition.
