Support to Georgia's researchers' mobility

Project Description
Promotion of internationalization of Georgia’s STI sector, advancement of Georgian researchers’ (including the young scientists) networking and contribution to the establishment of professional links with the respective counterparts from the EU, as well advancement of the capacity of Georgian research universities, scientific centres, research funding institutions, research-intensive SMEs and other public and/or private institutions involved in collaboration with the European research entities.
Specific Objective
Promotion of researchers' mobility in Georgia.
Purpose 1 is to design and implement the special funding scheme Researcher Mobility Programme (RMP) for Georgian researchers and innovators in order to increase the scope of the scientific community’s international cooperation and participation in mid-term mobility, thus promoting transnational and inter-institutional networking and collaboration with colleagues in research entities (universities, institutes/centres, business) in the EU member states.
Purpose 2 is to enhance the capacity of Georgia’s R&I community (including SRNSFG), share EU best practices in R&I proposal writing and research grant management, thus advancing the skills of Georgian researchers and innovators for EU Horizon Europe and other EU R&I funding schemes and programmes, including COST Actions and WIDENING.
Expected Results
A mid-term researcher mobility fellowship scheme is developed and implemented that will foster international cooperation among Georgian and EU researchers and innovators is enhanced and sustainable professional contacts are established.
The scientific productivity of Georgian researchers is increased and advanced and the knowledge of the EU best practices in R&I and experience gained by fellows through mid-term mobility scheme are shared and transferred in Georgia.
Tailored training measures are developed and implemented for R&I proposal writing for EU funded programmes and capacity development in proposal writing and project management for Horizon Europe and other EU R&I funding schemes.
Capacity development of Grant and Research Offices of higher education and research institutions. Awareness of the Georgian R&I funding agencies is raised on the EU’s P2P initiatives (WIDENING).
