Bolnisi Municipality is one of the municipalities in Georgia that has received a grant from Mayors for Economic Growth (M4EG) - an EU programme to support Mayors and municipalities of the Eastern Partnership countries to become active facilitators for economic growth and job creation at the local level.

The project implements innovative local economic development and business stimulation plans in Bolnisi Municipality and ensures greater access to markets. It:
- establishes a Business Cluster with the goal of transforming Bolnisi into a regional agribusiness hub
- Improves tourism infrastructure and marketing of Bolnisi as an attractive destination for tourists
- Improves cooperation and networking between local SMEs and individual farmers and entrepreneurs in order to increase crop production and improve access to regional markets.

Special attention is made for engagement of women and young people into development of local business initiatives.

To improve the business environment and management skills of local entrepreneurs by investing in hard infrastructure, and by promoting agricultural value chains with a focus on women and young people by facilitating public-private dialogues.

- Business logistical hub and respective business cluster established and strengthened, with at least 1,000 economic actors integrated;
- Infrastructure developed and in place enabling procession, safe storing, packaging and trading of agriproducts;
- Agrohub business model developed;
- Touristic infrastructure developed and at least 3,500 households involved in tourism and trade;
- Improved business management capacities of SMEs engaged in the area of agriproduction, procession, and tourism, with at least 100 start-up local businesses consulted;
- Productivity of local producers and retailers increased by 10%, income of households - by 10-15 %;
- Improved technical skills, know-how and capacities of the local government;
- Increased income and profit of individuals or businesses involved in agro value chain. Employment increased at least by 3%; youth employment – at least by 5%.
