Supporting the Accession of Georgia to the Conventions on Transit Area and Launching of the New Computerised Transit System (NCTS)
Project Description
Giving assistance to the Customs Administration of Georgia in setting up the relevant legal, administrative and technical environment in support of Accession of Georgia to the Convention on the Simplification of Formalities in Trade in Goods and to the Convention on Common Transit Procedure and preparing for the implementation of the New Computerised Transit System.
Specific Objective
The specific objective of the project is to assist Customs Administration of Georgia in setting up the relevant legal, administrative and technical environment in support of Accession of Georgia to the Convention on the Simplification of Formalities in Trade in Goods and to the Convention on Common Transit Procedure and preparing for the implementation of the New Computerised Transit System.
Expected Results
The expected results are draft amendments to the provisions on transit procedure, recommendations for upgrading the current IT system to enable implementation of NCTS and strengthened institutional and human capacity in relation to the application of CTC and deployment of NCTS.
