Support to Implementation of the legislation compatible with EU directives on Organ, Tissue and Cell Transplantation
Project Description
The project is part of capacity-building efforts of the EU, which supports development of institutions and harmonising legislation of Georgia with EU directives. The project works with the Ministry of Internally Displaced Persons from Occupied Territories, Labour, Health and Social Affairs to support with advancement and finalisation of the national legislation (including secondary legislation) compatible with EU Directives on organ, tissue and cell transplantation. The project supports with promoting and implementation of such legislation.
At the same time, the project helps with establishment of the Inspectorate within the regulatory agency in the field of organ transplantation and promoting its functioning.

Specific Objective
To provide support to the Ministry of Internally Displaced Persons from Occupied Territories, Labour, Health and Social Affairs in preparation and implementation of the national legislation compatible with EU directives on Organ, Tissue and Cell Transplantation.
Expected Results
- National legislation (including secondary legislation) compatible with EU Directives in the field of organ, tissue and cell transplantation;
- The inspectorate set up in the regulatory agency, staff is selected and trained, the inspectorate has all necessary tools (internal instructions, standard operating procedures, guidelines) to ensure efficient functioning in the field of organ, tissue and cell transplantation;
- Workshop(s)/Meetings prepared by the experts and held with relevant stakeholders.
