Reinforcing the Child Welfare and Protection System in Georgia

Project Description
The Project aims to reinforce the child welfare reform in Georgia and ensure provision of quality alternative care for children.
Specific Objective
The objective of the project is to enable the Government of Georgia to strengthen the child protection system and provide quality alternative care services with a focus on family and community-based care.
Expected Results
1.1 Relevant mechanisms, models and capacity for strengthening the statutory social work system are developed and improved
1.2 SSA’s capacity to provide quality alternative care services to vulnerable children is increased
1.3 SSA is informed on the non-regulated residential child care institutions and the capacity of relevant staff of the non-regulated institutions is increased
1.4 Deinstitutionalization process is reinforced and the state policy for alternative child care services is improved/regulated
