EU, UNDP, and OHCHR organise training for legal practitioners to strengthen expertise in international human rights litigation

16/10/2026

As part of the European Union and the United Nations joint initiative ‘Human Rights for All’, the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) and the Office of the United Nations High Commissioner for Human Rights (OHCHR) invite legal practitioners in Georgia to apply for a two-day training on the practical use of international human rights protection mechanisms.

The training will take place on 7-8 November 2026. The organisers will fully cover participants’ transportation and accommodation costs. Training will be conducted outside Tbilisi. The exact location will be communicated to selected participants.

The training aims to strengthen the knowledge and practical skills of legal practitioners in using international human rights mechanisms and strategic litigation. It will focus on litigation before the European Court of Human Rights (ECtHR).

The training will combine theoretical guidance with practical exercises and discussion of relevant cases and litigation experience.

The call is primarily intended for individual legal practitioners practising at the national level, who are interested in strengthening their capacity to use international human rights mechanisms in their legal practice.

Interested candidates are invited to complete the registration form and submit a CV and a motivation letter (maximum 300 words).

The deadline for applications is 26 October.

Upon successful completion of the course, participants will receive a certificate of participation.
