Strengthening Capacity of Civil Society for Expanded Social Services (SuCCESS)

Project Description
The Government of Georgia is committed to promote the full realisation of all human rights and fundamental freedoms for all persons with disabilities by means of provision of inclusive environment and establishing quality social service delivery.

Engagement of civil society in social service delivery, advocacy and policy formation at national and local levels is crucial for the realization of rights of persons with disabilities.

In response to the above-mentioned, the project "Strengthening Capacity of Civil Society for Expanded Social Services" aims at strengthening capacities of the Georgian civil society organizations (CSOs) for promoting human rights and fundamental freedoms of the most vulnerable persons through capacity building interventions.

During the lifetime of the project a research assessing existing social services in Georgia will be conducted, new need and right based social services will be designed and piloted in four regions, at least 4 sub-grants will be awarded for their implementation, capacity building trainings will be conducted for CSOs, advocacy initiatives will be implemented, training modules for CSO staff working in social service delivery will be created for further application beyond the project period, Social Service Development Strategy will be drafted with CSOs involvement.
Specific Objective
Specific objective of the project is to strengthen CSOs capacity to respond to, advocate for the needs of the persons with disabilities, and become the stewards for the right-based service delivery, inclusive and accountable management.
Expected Results
- Capacities and engagement opportunities of CSOs to ensure equal access to social services for persons with disabilities are strengthened;
- CSOs knowledge, attitude and skills for quality social service delivery for persons with disabilities are improved;
- CSOs participate in multi-stakeholder policy formation process to develop effective gender sensitive and inclusive National Strategy for Social Service Delivery and Support.
