Stronger Parliamentary Institutions in Georgia

Project Description
The European Union and UNDP assist the Parliament of Georgia in implementing institutional reforms, promoting transparency in legislation, representing citizen interests effectively, streamlining law-making processes, and strengthening governmental oversight.

The project's current phase has expanded to include support for the Supreme Council of the Ajara Autonomous Republic, aiming to replicate the successful development approach applied to the Parliament of Georgia. Drawing on past collaboration experiences, tailored assistance will be provided to optimize resources for the Supreme Council.

Upholding UNDP's commitment to inclusivity, the project prioritizes women's full participation and active involvement at every stage, ensuring no one is left behind.
Specific Objective
The project is structured along four major directions: Law-making and Oversight; Institutional Efficiency; CSOs and Citizens, and Political Processes, and aims to support specific strategically important reforms, ensuring sustainable institutional development and national ownership.
