Georgia SMEs and Innovation Ecosystem Support Program

Project Description
The objective of the project is to enhance competitiveness and ensure inclusive, sustainable growth of Georgian SMEs. This will be achieved by strengthening evidence-based policymaking, supporting the green transition of firms, promoting innovation, and developing risk capital.
Specific Objective
The overall objective of the project is to promote competitiveness and inclusive, sustainable growth of Georgian SMEs by strengthening evidence-based policy making, supporting green transition of firms, promoting innovation, and developing risk capital.
Specific Objectives include:
Result 1 – Improved inclusive access and use of diversified financial services (risk capital for SMEs and startups) and improved and inclusive access to markets.
Result 2 – Promoting evidence-based innovation policy.
Result 3 – Improved sustainable productive capacities of supported MSMEs as measured by uptake of sustainable and energy efficiency organizational and managerial practices.
Expected Results
- Training of SMEs and/or fund managers
- Develop sustainable Early-Stage Funding Programs
- Strengthen Technology Transfer & Commercialization Program
- Build GITA’s M&E and Impact Evaluation capacity
- Pilot initiatives for Greening the firms
