Project Description
The project is dedicated to enhancing the competitiveness of companies through the improvement of Quality Infrastructure.
The project's primary objective is to foster inclusive and sustainable growth in Georgia, aligning with the implementation of the Deep and Comprehensive Free Trade Agreement (DCFTA) and associated EU commitments, guiding Georgia to commit to adopting European standards and fostering free-market competition with a particular emphasis on business, trade, environment, and skills development, its overarching goal is to enhance the competitiveness and sustainability of Georgia's local private sector.
The project closely collaborates with its key partners such as the Ministry of Economy and Sustainable Development of Georgia, the Georgian National Agency for Standards and Metrology, the Georgian Accreditation Center, the Market Surveillance Agency, Enterprise Georgia, and Georgian Competition and Consumer Agency.
The project aims to contribute to various actions, including:
• Identifying important aspects of the regulatory framework in quality infrastructure, fostering synergy between private and public entities, and delivering technical expertise to quality institutions for capacity building
• Planning impactful awareness campaigns focused on product quality conformity and providing technical advice to private enterprises to ensure adherence to European and international standards.
• Joining forces to elevate the quality standards of local production and support of conformity assessment bodies through targeted financial support mechanisms, in collaboration with Enterprise Georgia.

• Improved compliance with European and international standards of local producers.
• Raised awareness for Georgian companies regarding the potential of private standards or state regulation including the services offered by public and private organisations within the system of notified bodies.
